ComCil will conduct a final review of the Community Government by-laws and discuss next steps in the formation of a student newspaper.

:: Sontag Fels update

Last Friday, we passed the final inspection for the Sontag Fels student space. Div Dance was held there in the little auditorium on Saturday night.

Going forward, students will have the opportunity to work with Community Life and Comcil to work on the space. We will need to move furniture from the Union as well as do cosmetic work there.

Stay tuned next term for more about Sontag Fels. If you want to help with this effort, contact Louise Smith at

:: Media Arts class presentations

On Tuesday, December 18, the students of Media Arts 102: Basic Media Production will screen their work in McGregor 113 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. These sound, video, and photography works will play continuously on a loop. Everyone from the Antioch community is invited to come see our works at that time!

:: Global Seminar student presentations

The Global Seminar student presentations will be held on the first floor of McGregor Hall on Thursday, December 20, from 2:15 to 3:50 p.m.

The entire Antioch community is invited.

:: Winter farm volunteer hours

Volunteer hours for the Antioch Farm will be taking a break until January 9, 2013. Then, they will be every Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in January and February.

Join us on the Antioch Farm to care for our greenhouse garden beds and prepare the farm for spring. All ages and experience levels welcome. Inclement weather cancels, call (937) 477-8654. Meet on the farm, just west of Antioch Amphitheater.

:: Kitchen worker announcement

Attention kitchen workers:

The term is ending and this means a few things for us in the kitchen. First, we get a break!

Also, schedules and work agreements will be changing. We solicited new jobs during the Job Fair on Thursday, December 13.

You may also see Isaac in the days leading up to break and the weekend before class begins in January to get on the schedule. We would prefer to have the schedule filled and solidified no later than Friday, January 11.

A few new things to note: A change in compensation; student workers will be paid an hourly rate of $8.00 per hour. If you so enjoyed the previous work exchange model, we are open to negotiate.

Also, students may now work up to five shifts per week or ten hours per week. As before, we prefer that all employees work at least two shifts per week (total of four hours).

Thank you to everyone who has helped out in the kitchen this term. We are proud of you and none of this would have been possible without your hard work.

:: Antioch College Menu and Dining Hall information

The North Hall Dining Room opens at 12:00 p.m. and we serve until lunch until 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. We ask that faculty, staff, and visitors offer $5.00, paid via the “honor system,” to a deposit safe located near the front entrance of the dining room. We also ask that shoes and shirts be worn in the dinning room at all times and that food not be taken “to-go” unless you are unable to join us for a meal during the established meal time. Thank you!
