:: Message from Jimmy Walters, IT

The old cloud will be retired on November 30, which means that if you’re still using it, you will no longer have access to it after that date. It has been replaced with the new cloud solution known as Citrix and I have worked with many of you to get your data copied over from the old cloud to the new Citrix option. If you no longer use the old cloud or never did in the first place and feel that you have no data on there that needs to be moved over please send me a message so that way we can go ahead and remove those hosted desktops right away.

If you still are on the old cloud and need assistance moving data over and need help accessing the new cloud please contact me and I will gladly help you transfer everything over. I will also assist on showing you how to use the new cloud as it’s totally web-based and doesn’t include logging into a desktop as you did with the old cloud. If you have any questions please let me know.

:: Message from Tom Brookey

If you are an employee who had an Flexible Spending Account (FSA), please read the following note from ADP and see Tom with any questions:

Antioch employees’ FSA coverage ended on our termination date with ADP TotalSource, so any claims submitted must be for expenses incurred PRIOR to (or on) Antioch’s termination date with ADP TotalSource (9/23/2012.) Assuming that the employees who had remaining balances were able to spend their funds prior to 9/23/2012, they would just use the standard reimbursement form to submit their receipts for reimbursement (see Tom for forms.)

All Antioch employees will have 60 days to file any eligible claims incurred through 9/23/12, so it would be best if they go ahead and put the wheels in motion now. Deadline to file claims is 11/23/12.

:: What’s in the works in Community Life

Elections! We’re having them, counting the ballots, publicizing the results.

Governance Archives: Elijah Blanton will be putting together the archives of our work on governance last year both with the Council of Conveners and Governance Task Group. A copy of this archive will be kept in the Office of Community Life as well as in Antiochiana.

Independent Groups: IdaLease Cummings has worked on our elections boards and will be helping to get independent groups connected. Coordinators, stay tuned for e-mails to link your group together. Independent groups will be officially recognized once Community Council has a chance to meet.

Alternative Library: Justin Moore is working on bringing the Alternative Library back to campus. At present, we are looking at the best location for this interesting and well-used resource.

“Where We Come From”— Open mic that can include poetry (yours or someone else’s), songs, performances, images, objects, stories and whatever you want to share about where you come from. Contact Maya Nye or Louise Smith if you want to help plan this event.

:: Students of Color Leadership Conference announcement

Twelve students and three staff will be attending the Great Lakes College Association Students of Color Leadership Conference, November 9 and 10, at Kalamazoo College in Michigan.
