:: What is Constitution Day?

The United States Government has designated today, September 17, as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day (also referred to as Constitution Day) to commemorate the September 17, 1787 signing of the U.S. Constitution.

To help students, faculty and staff become well-informed citizens through an awareness of and familiarity with the U.S. Constitution, colleges across Ohio and in the U.S. may celebrate Constitution Day in their own unique ways.

How Can I Learn About the U.S. Constitution?

The following are resources about the U.S. Constitution to supplement the U.S. Constitution booklet that has been placed in mailboxes across campus.

• The Library of Congress (www.loc.gov)

• The National Archives and Records Administration (www.archives.gov)

• National Constitution Center (www.constitutioncenter.org)

Additional Websites:

o www.usconstitutionday.cc

o www.usconstitution.net

o www.about.com (search: U.S. Constitution)

If you are in need of additional copies of the U.S. Constitution booklet (English or Spanish versions), stop by the Office of the Registrar and Academic Services in Room 213 of McGregor Hall.

:: Yellow Springs Street Fair announcement

Antioch College is the premier sponsor of the Yellow Springs Street Fair on Saturday, October 13. Do your part and volunteer for a shift to man the Antioch College booth!

Just like the past few years, each shift will be 30 minutes. The fair begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. If you would like to sign up, please e-mail Ashley Couch at acouch@antiochcollege.org as soon as possible.

:: Scott Sanders, Antioch College archivist, to give architecture talk

The talk is titled, “Architecture by Era: The Development of the Antioch College Campus.”

When you think of Antioch College, you probably think of the towers of Main Building, but the college is comprised of other buildings in other styles. Learn about them in this illustrated talk by Antioch College’s resident historical expert.

Admission to the talk is free and light refreshments will be served.
