:: Antioch Kitchens metrics find interesting result

To measure the success of the College at achieving Strategic Goal 3 is “Build a Sustainable Educational Environment,” one of our metrics is what percent of food purchases by the dining hall are from local sources.

In the last quarter (January 1-March 31), 33% (1/3) of dining hall food purchases were within 30 miles of campus.

Considering these were Winter months, this is an impressive number--especially considering “food purchases” do not include items sourced from Antioch Farm.

We will continue to track this metric and should see it increase as we head into spring and summer months.

:: President Mark Roosevelt to deliver Executive Briefing

On Friday May 17 at 7:30 p.m. in McGregor 113, Mark will give an Executive Briefing. Students, staff, faculty, and the public are invited to join the Antioch College Board of Trustees at this event.

:: SOPP revisions tables at lunch

Community Council will be having a table at lunch starting Wednesday, May 8, and Friday, May 10, noon–1:00 p.m. to talk about SOPP revisions with the goal of bringing changes to Comcil for our meeting on May 14. I will have copies of the revisions and also include a copy for you to look at. This is an important effort with time sensitivity.

:: Official community bartender training

The first Official Community Bartender Training will take place on Wednesday, May 15, 7:00–9:00 p.m. in McGregor 130.

Students, staff, or faculty (who are over 21 years of age) are eligible to receive this training that will enable them to serve beer or wine at alcohol-tolerant events on campus. The training will consist of a review of the Antioch College Alcohol and Drug Policy as well as Servsafe Alcohol Training. If you are interested in attending please RSVP to Louise Smith. We will be scheduling additional trainings as interest warrants.

:: AFLAC representatives on campus

AFLAC will be visiting campus on May 7, at 2:00 p.m. and May 8 at 9:30 a.m. All employees are required to attend at least one session. Locations TBD. If you have any questions, please contact Tom Brookey.

:: Reunion 2013 faculty/staff registration REQUIRED

It’s that time again. Reunion 2013 is just around the corner: Friday, June 14 - Sunday, June 16. All faculty and staff members are strongly encouraged to attend and participate in this year’s weekend activities. You MUST register in order to attend.

:: Antioch College Menu and Dining Hall information

The North Hall Dining Room opens at 12:00 p.m. and we serve until lunch until 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. We ask that faculty, staff, and visitors offer $5.00, paid via the “honor system,” to a deposit safe located near the front entrance of the dining room. We also ask that shoes and shirts be worn in the dinning room at all times and that food not be taken “to-go” unless you are unable to join us for a meal during the established meal time.
