MONROE TOWNSHIP, OHIO - Florence E. Knight, age 72, of Monroe Township, Ohio, died Friday morning, Oct. 8, 2010, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
She was born Jan. 4, 1938, in Yellow Springs, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Bennett) Whitmore. An area resident for 45 years, Mrs. Knight was a graduate of Antioch College.
Florence was a member of Old Time Baptist Church in Conneaut. She enjoyed farming, gardening and letter-writing and was accepting of everybody.
Survivors include four daughters, Alison Toby Knight of Louisville, Ky., Niki Kim (Bob) Taylor of Ponte Vedra, Fla., Trudy (Wess) Hackathorn of North Kingsville, Ohio and Rachel (Dennis) Drew of Conneaut; two sons, Kirt (Marlo) Knight of Spanaway, Wash. and Todd Knight of Pierpont, Ohio; a sister, Diantha Waymire of Santa Rosa, Calif.; three brothers, Ben Whitmore of Spokane, Wash., David of Johnsbury, Vt. and John of Yellow Springs, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Harry Knight on May 7, 1998.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12th, at Old Time Baptist Church, 809 Furnace Road, Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. Richard Elliot officiating. Burial will be in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Monroe Township, Ohio. There will be no calling hours observed. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of the funeral home.
