On July 20, 2013 Deborah Woodroofe Sarsgard died in San Francisco, California, after battling lupus and lymphoma. Deborah is survived by her sons James and Benjamin Sarsgard, as well as her granddaughter Opal and beloved dog Lilly. She was preceded in death by parents Philip and Helen Woodroofe. Her Antioch College BA was in Social Work, and Deborah began a career in social work in 1989, dedicating her life to the welfare of children in Baltimore, Maryland. She retired in 2011 to Boonville, California where she lent her talents to the service of the Anderson Valley Unity Group and the local public radio. An avid gardener, Deborah particularly enjoyed keeping flowers that would attract hummingbirds.
