YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio — June 15, 2012 — The Antioch College Board of Trustees voted unanimously Thursday, June 14, to elect attorney Sharon Merriman ’55 as a new trustee of the College, Board Chair Frances Degen Horowitz announced.
“We are delighted to welcome Sharon to the Antioch College Board of Trustees. She will bring to the Board and to our purposes her skills, her talents, and her informed perspective as a devoted alumna,” Horowitz said.
Merriman, a long-term resident of the Indianapolis area, has a record of support to the College that dates back to 1960. She was elected to the Antioch University Board of Trustees in 2006 and remained until this year.
A civil litigator in federal and state courts since 1975, Merriman specializes in personal injury cases, representing businesses in commercial collection matters, and probate and estate work. She also serves as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. She is of counsel in the law firm of Voyles Zahn Paul.
Sharon is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and the Indiana State Bar Association.
Sharon is a graduate of Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and earned her law degree from Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis in 1975.
